Diploma Values Revealed
Three announcements have been made relating to the "value" of the Diploma. The Advanced Diploma will be equivalent to 3.5 A Levels and the Higher Diploma to 7 GCSEs (A*-C).

Three new subjects added to Diploma portfolio
The government has announced that additional Diplomas in science, languages and the humanities will increase the study options for 14 to 19-year-olds.

Diploma - 14-19
A new 14-19 Diploma will be taught from 2008 in the following curriculum areas; engineering, society, health and development, construction and the built environment, IT ad creative and media.

QCA, in conjunction with its regulatory partners CCEA (Northern Ireland), DELLS (Wales) and SQA (Scotland) have published a set of e-assessment principles.

GCSE Criteria Updated
Revised GCSE subject criteria for 28 subjects were published in December 2007, along with a report on the results of the public consultation which ended in September. The revisions are designed to incorporate key elements of 14–19 curriculum developments
