Entry level	Courses in a range of areas including National Curriculum subjects, life skills, basic skills, and skills for working life.
Level 1	Foundation courses, GCSEs grade D-G, NVQ 1 or similar. This includes “Entry to Employment” courses
Level 2	GCSEs, NVQ2 or similar
Level 3	A Levels, NVQ3 or similar. You should already have a level 2 qualification e.g. GCSE, NVQ2 etc.
Level 4	BTEC Professional Award, Diploma, Certificate in Early Years Practice
Level 5	Foundation Degrees, HND/HNC, BTEC Higher National Diploma. You should already have a level 3 qualification e.g. A Level, BTEC ND, NVQ 3 etc.
Level 6	Honours Degrees, Diploma in Management.
Level 7-8	Qualifications above degree or NVQ level Ð e.g. Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma, Masters Degree, Doctorate, other specialist qualifications
